PLANT DESIGNER / MECHANICAL DESIGNER

- Fast Paced Project

- Perth Based Role

- Contract - September 2026 start date

Suitable candidates should possess the following attributes;

- 4+ years plant design/ mechanical designer experience

- Proficient in Autodesk suite ie Plant 3D, AutoCAD

- Liaise with multi-discipline internal teams, key external suppliers and clients.

- Adaptable, positive, can do, hands-on attitude

- Strong work ethic, team spirit, time management, organisation & autonomous work style

- Excellent reading & writing, interpersonal and communication skills





- High standards of presentation and attention to detail

Specific skills include:

- Experience with 3D modelling and 2D drafting with processing plants (AutoCAD only)

- Role would translate the engineers design drawings into the 3D model, helping identify gaps, clashes and other potential drawing issues

- Mechanical - model equipment based on engineers' drawings but just high level modelling not detailed; place equipment in the 3D space; route pipelines in accordance with the pipe design;

- Structural - model steel structures, place structures in the 3D space and check if mechanicals and structural fit together; ensure sufficient space for services and operation eg operation of valves, access to collect samples etc;

- Electrical - help position HMIs, DGs, transformers, and cable trays; help identify length of cables and such so that EE can perform sizing calcs;

- Other - help identify hazards during the engineering phase; help client have a better overview of the plant and review our design; beneficial to guide construction to have a 3D model; easier optimization and modifications in the future;

Suitable candidate requirements:

- 4+ years’ experience

- Tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering or Drafting certification

- Post graduate qualifications would also be highly regarded
