Red Lily Health Service is an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation, governed by a Board of local community Directors. Community voices, culture and local decision-making are at the heart of our health service and how we deliver culturally safe, high-quality primary healthcare across West Arnhem.
About Our Communities
Red Lily delivers primary healthcare across four West Arnhem communities:
Gunbalanya
(Oenpelli) on the edge of Arnhem Land,
Jabiru
in the heart of Kakadu National Park,
Minjilang
on Croker Island, and
Warruwi
on South Goulburn Island.
Each community is different, with strong Aboriginal cultures, diverse languages and deep connections to Country. Our Remote Area Nurses work as part of multidisciplinary teams delivering comprehensive primary healthcare responsive to the needs of each community.
These positions are available across all four communities listed above.

What you'll do:
Provide comprehensive Primary Health Care within a multidisciplinary team framework
Deliver care coordination, case management, recall systems, and priority health programs with the local health centre team
Support evidence-based clinical care and Medicare-related activities, ensuring eligible clients access relevant MBS items and health incentive programs
Maintain accurate clinical documentation, patient records, and health information systems
Work collaboratively with Aboriginal Health Practitioners as key providers of culturally appropriate care
Support orientation of new staff, students, and visiting clinicians, including infection prevention and cold chain management standards
Participate in the 24-hour on-call roster and contribute to acute and emergency care
What we're looking for:
Eligible for AHPRA registration as a general Registered Nurse, with a relevant post-basic qualification
Extensive experience and demonstrated skills in Remote Area Nursing, with understanding of all roles within a multidisciplinary primary health care team model in Australian Indigenous communities
Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal health, cultural safety, and the social determinants of health
Knowledge and experience implementing Primary Health Care programs and relevant legislation governing remote practice
Highly developed interpersonal, complex problem-solving, written, verbal, and IT communication skills
Current full Australian driver's licence and full rights to work in Australia
Desirable:
Tertiary and/or post-basic qualifications in Midwifery, Child Health, Emergency Care, Mental Health, or Primary Health Care
Prior experience in Remote Area Nursing

Competitive salary of $123,800 – $134,300 per annum based on experience, plus super

About You:
Confident practising across the full lifespan, from acute presentations to chronic disease management
Committed to culturally safe, person-centred care and health literacy
Able to work autonomously with sound clinical judgement in a remote setting
Willing to participate in the 24-hour on-call roster and travel to remote communities by air and road
Committed to quality improvement, education, and ongoing professional development
