Position Details
We're looking for a reliable and dedicated
Kitchenhan
d
to join our
Palm Lake Resort Bargara
team. You will play an essential role in supporting our culinary team by maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment, ensuring residents and guests enjoy every dining experience.
This is a
Part Time
position, working 15 hours
per week
working across dinner (5pm-8.30pm) and lunch (11am - 2.30pm) services Monday to Friday.
Additional hours may be available on an irregular/ad hoc basis (additional meal services, special events & staff leave coverage).
Responsibilities
Assist chefs/cook with basic food preparation and service.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen and dining areas.
Wash, sanitise, and store dishes, utensils, and equipment properly.
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Support stock rotation and assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries.
Empty rubbish bins and ensure waste is disposed of safely and hygienically.
Clean food preparation areas, fridges, ovens,
and other kitchen equipment.
Follow workplace health and safety guidelines and report hazards promptly.
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Previous experience working in a kitchen, café, or catering environment (preferred).
Knowledge of food hygiene and safe work practices.
A positive attitude and ability to work as part of a close-knit team.
Strong time management and attention to detail.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends if required.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
