The Role:
n
To provide hands-on operational, technical & training support across all facets of the customer production environment.
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
n
Strict adherence to standardised repair process & enforce same with site staff
n
Ability to quickly identify and remedy in office production bottlenecks
n
Hands on role – vehicle preparation, paint mixing, paint application in line with site requirements
n
Ongoing equipment maintenance – spray equipment / UV & IR lamps / gun-wash machines / color tools etc.
n
Ability to train, mentor and discipline customer paint & panel staff as required
n
Staff training - On-site & PPG Training Centre, one on one training, staff assessments, and pre-employment assessments
n
Monthly Site Audits to identify areas of concern in relation to EHS, process and operations
n
n
Requirements:
n
n
Ideally 5 years plus of hands-on experience within a high-volume vehicle repair environment
n
Experience with process driven environments
n




High level of interpersonal & communication skills at all levels of business
n
Ability to enforce process is a non-negotiable requirement
n
Understanding of labour productivity and the relationship to overall profitability.
n
Sound planning, time management and organisational skills.
n
Extensive knowledge of PPG products and application systems.
n
Knowledge of LEAN principles
n
Basic computer & literary competency in regard to email and other electronic communication
n
Be self-motivated to achieve the required work tasks efficiently during the working day
n
Hold and maintain a current / valid motor vehicle driver license
n
Complete all mandatory company training both internal or external as required, whether in person or online
n
Adherence to all EHS policies at both PPG and Customer sites
n
Ensure compliance with PPG Ethics policy
n
Comply with the Travel and Entertainment policy
n
All PPG sites and vehicles are Smoke Free environments
n
Comply with the PPG Company Vehicle Policy
