Join a highly regarded, family-owned WA retail business and play a key role in shaping the grocery offer across a growing network of premium supermarkets.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Grocery Buyer to join a well-established and growing retail business with a strong reputation for quality, customer experience and an outstanding product range.
n
This is a hands-on, commercially focused buying role where you'll have genuine influence over what customers see, discover and purchase in-store.
n
You'll work closely with leading FMCG suppliers, local producers and emerging brands to build a compelling grocery range that delivers the right balance of quality, innovation, value and commercial return.
n
About the Role
n
Reporting into the senior commercial team, you'll take ownership of the buying and category performance across an allocated grocery portfolio.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Managing the end-to-end buying function across grocery categories
n
Developing and optimising product ranges across multiple stores
n
Identifying recent products, emerging brands, local suppliers and market trends
n
Building strong and commercially productive supplier relationships
n
Negotiating cost prices, rebates, trading terms and promotional support
n
Managing pricing and promotional strategies to maximise sales and GP
n
Analysing sales, margin, stock turn and category performance
n
Identifying opportunities to grow category sales and profitability
n
Managing new product introductions, ranging reviews and SKU rationalisation
n
Monitoring competitor pricing, ranging and market activity
n




Working closely with store teams to understand customer needs and trading opportunities
n
Partnering with Marketing, Operations, Finance and Supply Chain to execute the category strategy
n
Managing stock availability while minimising excess and aged inventory ]]
n
Staying ahead of grocery, food and consumer trends to ensure the range remains fresh, relevant and competitive
n
n
About You
n
You'll be a commercially minded Grocery Buyer or Category Manager who understands that great buying is about much more than price.
n
You'll bring:
n
n
Previous buying or category management experience within grocery, supermarket retail or FMCG
n
Strong knowledge of the Australian grocery market and supplier landscape
n
Proven supplier negotiation and relationship management skills
n
Strong commercial understanding of GP, margin, pricing, rebates and promotional activity
n
Confidence interpreting sales and category data and turning insights into action
n
Experience managing a significant product range and/or multiple categories
n
Strong understanding of ranging, stock management and forecasting
n
A genuine interest in food, products and emerging consumer trends
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
n
A proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused approach
n
The confidence to make commercial decisions in a fast-moving retail environment
n
