n Approximately 50% of the position remains clinically focused, enabling you to maintain meaningful involvement in frontline patient care while leading departmental strategy, clinical governance,
workforce development and service performance.

The Department
n
You will provide leadership across a comprehensive range of medical services, including:
n Leadership across General Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology, Palliative Care, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Respiratory Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Hospital in the Home and Virtual Care
n Working closely with senior hospital executives, clinical leaders and district-wide stakeholders, you will help develop sustainable, patient-centred services that respond to the evolving needs of the regional community.

The Opportunity
n
As Clinical Director of Medicine, you will:
n
n
Provide strategic, clinical and operational leadership across the Department of Medicine
n
Lead service planning, redesign and performance improvement initiatives
n
Oversee clinical governance, quality, safety and risk management
n
Guide medical workforce planning, recruitment, wellbeing and professional development
n
Strengthen physician education, supervision and training accreditation
n
Champion contemporary models of care, including Medical Assessment Units, rapid-access clinics, Hospital in the Home and virtual care
n
Support research and education through established university and medical research partnerships
n
Build productive relationships across specialties, services and external organisations
n
Represent the department at hospital and health-service leadership forums
n
Maintain an active clinical practice within General Medicine or your recognised physician subspecialty
n

About You
n
You will be an experienced,
collaborative and forward-thinking medical leader with the credibility and vision to bring people together, lead change and deliver sustainable improvements.
n To be considered, you must hold:
n
n
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians—FRACP
n
Specialist registration with AHPRA
n
Senior clinical experience in General Medicine or a relevant physician subspecialty
n
n
You will also bring:

Demonstrated leadership experience in clinical governance, workforce management, service development or performance improvement
n
Experience leading change and improving clinical systems
n
A strong interest in physician education, supervision, training and accreditation
n
Highly developed communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills
n
A commitment to safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care
