About the Opportunity
n
As a Parks & Gardens Officer, you will play an important role in maintaining and improving the Shire's parks, gardens, reserves, recreational areas, roadsides and public spaces. Working as part of a supportive team, you'll contribute to creating attractive, secure and welcoming environments for residents and visitors alike.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Maintain parks, gardens and reserves through mowing, turf management, planting, pruning and weed control.
n
Operate and maintain plant, equipment and tools safely and effectively.
n
Undertake a variety of manual outdoor tasks and team-based projects.
n
Support environmental sustainability and the preservation of the Shire's natural assets.
n
Engage positively with residents and visitors, providing professional and courteous customer service.
n
Follow safe work practices and actively contribute to a strong workplace health and safety culture.
n
Participate in training and rotational duties to build skills across the Parks and Reserves team.
n

About You
n

Relevant horticultural qualification or equivalent practical experience.
n
Current Western Australian C Class Driver's Licence.
n
Current White Card.
n
National Police Clearance.
n
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
n
Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices
n
n
Candidates must be willing to complete a pre‐employment medical (including drug and alcohol screening) and provide a current National Police Clearance.
n
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
n
n
HR or MR Driver's Licence.
n
First Aid Certificate.
n
Traffic Management accreditation.
n
Chainsaw operation certification.
n
Chemical Handling accreditation.
n
Experience operating horticultural and grounds maintenance equipment, including mowers, brush cutters, blowers, hedge trimmers and tractors
n
