WhatWCHN Can Offer You
An additional annual allowanceof $11,565 is payable to Psychologists where the successful candidateholds an Area of Practice Endorsement provided by the Psychology Board ofAustralia (paid on pro rata basis).
An additional annualprofessional development allowance of $**** is also payable, and a furtherentitlement of up to $**** per year for reimbursement of relevantprofessional development expenses.

Aboutthe role
Providecompassionate psychological care for children and young people living withchronic pain.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the role deliversassessment, therapy and support for children and families across inpatient,outpatient and community settings, helping improve wellbeing and quality oflife.




Keyduties of the role
Provide specialist mental healthand psychological support to children and young people with chronic painand complex rehabilitation needs
Work within a multidisciplinaryteam to provide holistic, bio-psychosocial, trauma-informed,patient-centred, and evidenced-based clinical assessment andinterventions.
Demonstrate knowledge andunderstanding of mental health and rehabilitation services for children,adolescents, and families and advocate for positive mental healthoutcomes.
Provide child & adolescentmental health education and psychological education and training to thePaediatric Chronic Pain Service.
Skillsand Experience
General registration with thePsychology Board of Australia and desirably holding an endorsed area ofpractice and being a Board-Approved supervisor.
Experience in conductingpsychological assessment and intervention with children, young people andfamilies experiencing complex emotional, behavioural and/or cognitivedifficulties.
Experience in service provisionwithin a multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary setting and across arange of agencies.
Demonstrated ability to applyspecialised skills in analysing complex clinical problems and formulateand implement appropriate intervention (individual, family, systemic).
Demonstrated experience inworking with parents / families, schools, and other allied health careproviders to support the mental health and wellbeing of children and youngpeople.
Excellent interpersonalcommunication, liaison and presentation skills
