Overview
Port Lincoln Hospital is the primary emergency and acute care facility for the Eyre Peninsula - a region spanning vast distances where the Emergency Department is often the first and only point of critical care.
Eyre and Far North Local Health Network is looking for multiple Rural Generalists with strong emergency medicine experience to work predominantly in the ED, delivering independent, advanced-level care to patients who rely on you most.
Your Role at Port Lincoln Hospital
These ongoing, full-time positions are centred on the Port Lincoln Hospital Emergency Department, where you'll provide the full scope of rural emergency medicine.
Your day-to-day will include:
Managing undifferentiated and high-acuity emergency presentations independently, including trauma, paediatric and obstetric emergencies
Applying advanced procedural skills appropriate to a rural emergency setting - including airway management, resuscitation and stabilisation prior to retrieval where required
Contributing to after-hours and on-call emergency rosters to maintain consistent, secure ED coverage
Collaborating with retrieval services, visiting specialists and the broader EFNLHN clinical network to coordinate complex patient pathways
What You Bring
Qualification as a Rural Generalist (ACRRM or RACGP rural generalist pathway, or equivalent recognised training) - no single training pathway is mandated
Demonstrated ability to practise independently in a rural or regional Emergency Department
Advanced procedural skills relevant to emergency medicine in a low-resource, high-stakes environment

Experience managing retrieval coordination and working within SA Health or equivalent integrated rural service frameworks
Commitment to culturally safe care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and communities across the Eyre Peninsula
A Place Where Your Skills Have Real Impact
EFNLHN offers Rural Generalists something few metropolitan roles can - genuine clinical scope and the professional trust to use it.
You won't be a cog in a large system; you'll be a key clinician in a team that knows your name and values your judgement.
SA Health's public hospital salary packaging arrangements enhance your overall remuneration, and the network actively supports ongoing clinical development in rural emergency medicine.
Port Lincoln itself is a community worth belonging to: a thriving coastal town with exceptional seafood, open water, and a regional lifestyle that draws people in and keeps them.
