Description
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Kickboxing Coach to lead and develop our University Kickboxing club.
Our club accommodates beginners and casual attendees as well as ***** competitive fighters who train regularly.
We train and compete in Light Contact Kickboxing, with no knees, elbows or clinching being allowed in sparring.
We're hoping to find a coach that will put a strong emphasis on strength and conditioning, live drilling/sparring and seeks to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all our members.
Job Purpose: To provide high-quality coaching to students of varying ability, fostering skill development, fitness, and competitive performance in kickboxing while ensuring a safe and inclusive training setting.
Working hours: One session per week: During Michaelmas and Lent Terms only.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging and structured kickboxing training sessions for students of varying skill levels.
Provide coaching for all levels, from beginners to competitive athletes.
Develop individual and team performance strategies, including technical, tactical, and physical conditioning.




Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including risk assessments and injury prevention measures.
Prepare students for university competitions, BUCS fixtures, Varsity and other relevant events.
Provide mentorship and motivation to students, fostering a positive and disciplined training culture.
Maintain equipment and ensure proper usage during training sessions.
Collaborate with university sports staff and club committee members to align training with club objectives.
Uphold health and safety, safeguarding and inclusivity standards, ensuring a welcoming environment for all participants.
Adherence to club policies and procedures.
Stay up to date with coaching best practices and relevant qualifications.
Essential
Recognised kickboxing coaching qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or higher).
Experience in coaching kickboxing.
Strong communication, motivational and leadership skills.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in sports coaching.
Ability to plan and deliver progressive training programs.
Commitment to inclusivity and student development.
First aid certifications.
Desirable
Experience coaching competitive teams.
Safeguarding certifications.
