About the opportunity
The position's purpose is to provide a Staff Specialist Psychiatrist service to the Townsville Mental Health Service Group, specifically to the Child, Adolescent and Young Adult Service (CAYAS) working across any of the teams within CAYAS including within Adolescent Inpatient Unit and Day Service, community and North Queensland Adolescent Forensic Mental Health Service.
About the unit
Child, Adolescent and Young Adult Services (CAYAS) provide complex secondary and tertiary level mental health care to those who experience severe and complex mental health conditions.
CAYAS provides a comprehensive and recovery-orientated mental health care service that aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children, young people and their families/carers.
CAYAS combines consultation, assessment and treatment of children and young people experiencing serious mental health disorders and/or problems within their carer network.

Base salary range: $******* - $******** p.f. / $******-$****** p.h. (L18-L27)

Requirements
Qualifications in Psychiatry, recognised by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and current registration with/or eligibility for registration as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.
This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
