About the Role
MCA Engineering is seeking a Safety Officer with demonstrated experience in underground mining to support our team in office in Central West NSW.
This is a FIFO/DIDO role, providing HSE support for an underground construction project running for 12 months.
The principal functions of this position is to maintain and monitor MCA Engineering's Safety System: Lucidity, and review all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental related strategies, policies and procedures, risk assessments and safe working practices throughout MCA in accordance with International and local Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Legislation and standards.
To work proactively with Managers and Supervisors to establish and maintain efficient & safe systems of work and a safe environment.
This role is a site-based role on a 2:1 roster, working back to back with other safety officers, reporting to the Construction Manager.




Key Selection Criteria
Certificate IV or Diploma in Work, Health and Safety
A minimum of 3 years' experience in an underground environment
Knowledge of WHS legislation and compliance requirements
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with management, supervisory and operational staff
Demonstrated ability to coach and influence safe work behaviours
Strong reporting and documentation skills
Confident conducting site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
Willingness and ability to regularly work underground as part of the role
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol testing
