We are working closely with a major regional health service and are keen to connect with Consultant Geriatricians interested in a substantial specialist role within an established public hospital network.
This opportunity offers broad scope across inpatient geriatrics, multidisciplinary older persons care, rehabilitation interfaces and service development within a large regional referral environment.
The service is well suited to Fellowship-trained Geriatricians seeking a role that combines clinical variety, strong multidisciplinary engagement and the ability to contribute meaningfully to older persons medicine across hospital and subacute settings.
South West Healthcare provides specialist aged care and older people services, including geriatric medicine and GEM-linked referral pathways.
The Hospital
This substantial regional health service operates two public hospitals, community health centres, an aged care facility and a broad integrated service footprint supporting around 110,000 people across South West Victoria.
The main base hospital campus operates 24 hours a day and delivers more than 150 medical, nursing, mental health, allied health and community health services.

Requirements
Eligible for registration with AHPRA
Fellowship of the RACP or equivalent specialist qualification in Geriatric Medicine
Experience in inpatient geriatrics, multidisciplinary older persons care and complex discharge planning
Interest in service development, quality improvement and collaborative consultant practice
International Medical Graduates assessed as substantially comparable, or preparing for specialist assessment, are encouraged to apply
