Position Information
The new primary school for Emerald Hills has commenced early-stage works at Emerald Hills Boulevard in Leppington.
Leppington is located within the South Western Sydney Growth Area, one of Sydney's fastest-growing regions, with significant residential and population growth over the past decade and further growth forecast.
Due to the unique and complex nature of opening a new school, the foundation Principal will be appointed prior to the school opening.
This position will be classified at a P3 principal level.
The role will commence day 1, term ******, and the principal will lead and manage all preliminary requirements of establishing a new school with co-located early learning, including recruitment of staff, establishing new processes and working collaboratively with School Infrastructure.
The new primary school with co-located early learning is anticipated to open on day 1 term ******.
The project will deliver:
a recent primary school with capacity for 550 children across 27 teaching spaces, including specialist facilities for support classes
a hall, canteen, covered outdoor learning area (COLA), library, sports field, staff administration hub and dedicated carpark for staff
co-located early learning.

1. A visionary leader with high level leadership skills who has demonstrated capacity to establish a strong school culture through authentic engagement,
embedding community values into the fabric of the new school.
2. Demonstrated experience in establishing and growing connections with families, local primary and high schools, community stakeholders and organisations to build an inclusive school community supporting the needs of all students.
3. A highly visible, approachable leader who is adaptable, responsive, highly adaptable and who is able to build solid processes and practices that lead to outstanding student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
4. A highly experienced educational leader who inspires excellence at all stages of the school excellence cycle, and who has proven experience leading the aspirations of the NSW Plan for Public Education ensuring every student and staff member thrives and has equitable opportunities to belong, learn and flourish.
General Selection Criteria
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school's RAM allocation.
As part of the ongoing application of the recent structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis.The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P3 for ****.
