We're currently seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to join our Logistics leadership team at our Berrinba Distribution Centre. This is an opportunity for an experienced inventory professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced distribution environment, leading teams, solving inventory issues and driving high standards of stock accuracy, compliance and operational performance.
About the Role
Reporting to the Inventory & Systems Manager, the Inventory Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and control of inventory across the Berrinba Distribution Centre. You will lead the Inventory team and work closely with Operations, Supply Chain and other key stakeholders to maintain inventory accuracy, investigate stock discrepancies, improve inventory processes and ensure stock is available in the right location to support customer service and operational requirements. The role will have a strong focus on inventory integrity, stock control, compliance, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement within a highly automated distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day inventory management and stock control activities across the Berrinba Distribution Centre
Maintain high standards of inventory accuracy and stock integrity across warehouse storage and picking areas
Lead, coach and develop the Inventory team while maintaining clear priorities and performance expectations
Manage cycle counting, stock investigations, inventory adjustments and inventory reconciliation processes
Investigate stock discrepancies and operational inventory issues,
identify root causes and implement corrective actions
Monitor inventory accuracy and other key inventory performance measures and identify areas requiring improvement
Ensure inventory processes are completed in accordance with Sigma procedures, regulatory requirements and internal controls
Manage inventory-related issues including damaged, expired, quarantined, misplaced and unidentified stock
Work closely with Operations teams to resolve replenishment, location, stock availability and product flow issues
Support effective storage location utilisation and inventory placement within the Distribution Centre
Partner with Supply Chain, Customer Service and other stakeholders to investigate and resolve inventory-related service issues
Support stocktakes, inventory audits and compliance activities
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across inventory processes
Use SAP, warehouse management systems and operational data to analyse inventory issues and support decision-making
Escalate system, automation or process issues impacting inventory performance to the Inventory & Systems Manager and relevant support teams
Build strong working relationships with operational leaders and key stakeholders across the business
About You
You are an experienced inventory or logistics professional who enjoys working in a complex distribution setting and taking ownership of inventory accuracy and stock control. You are comfortable leading a team, investigating operational issues and working across different areas of the business to deliver practical outcomes. To be successful, you'll bring:
Demonstrated experience in inventory management, stock control or warehouse inventory operations
Experience leading and developing teams within a distribution, logistics or supply chain environment
Strong understanding of inventory accuracy, cycle counting, stock reconciliation and inventory control processes
Strong analytical, problem-solving and root-cause analysis capabilities
Experience investigating stock discrepancies and implementing corrective actions
Experience working with warehouse management systems and SAP or similar ERP systems
Confidence working with inventory data, reports and operational performance measures
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accountability
Good communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience working within a highly automated distribution environment will be highly regarded
A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to identify practical opportunities to improve inventory processes
The ability to balance day-to-day operational priorities while maintaining strong inventory governance and controls
