Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Tax Accountant leads a critical role in ensuring all of Honda Australia's internal and external requirements for financial reporting are delivered efficiently and effectively. The role is also imperative in ensuring tax compliance with evolving Australian and international tax regulations and supporting strategic business initiatives through sound tax advice and analysis.
How you'll make an impact
Manage BAS, FBT, and Corporate Income Tax compliance, maintaining accurate reconciliations and audit-ready documentation.
Manage year-end income tax reporting, tax disclosures and supporting schedules for statutory financial statements.
Coordinate preparation and review of the Annual Compliance Report (ACR), and other transfer pricing and taxation reporting required by Honda Motor Co.
Lead engagement with Honda Global and regional tax teams, ensuring timely and accurate reporting responses.
Develop and maintain tax policies, procedures and controls.
Partner with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax obligations and reporting requirements.
Support the monthly departmental profit and loss reviews and reports
Manage the delivery of month-end balance sheet reconciliations to ensure integrity of financial data.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual result reporting in Honda Motors global financial reporting platform.
What you'll bring to Honda
CA/CPA qualified with proven experience in taxation or financial accounting.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex tax matters to non-tax stakeholders.
Sound technical knowledge of the tax regulation and compliance framework.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Ability to mentor junior staff and delegate tasks.
Proven ability to apply innovative thinking to enhance processes and drive continuous improvement.
Advanced Excel skills and sound experience with SAP or other large ERP systems.
