Western District Health Service is seeking an experienced and motivated
Manager Finance Systems & Reporting
to join our Finance team.
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing finance systems, management accounting and financial reporting functions across the organisation. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate, compliant and efficient financial operations while driving system optimisation, reporting capability and business intelligence initiatives that support organisational performance and decision-making.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will lead a skilled accounting team and work collaboratively with Finance Business Partners, operational leaders and key stakeholders to strengthen financial governance, improve processes and deliver meaningful insights that support the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
What You'll Be Doing
Finance Systems Leadership & Optimisation
Lead the administration, maintenance and continuous improvement of finance, payroll and reporting systems, ensuring system integrity, compliance, effective integration and continuous optimisation.
Financial Reporting & Management Accounting
Oversee monthly accounting processes including journals, reconciliations, variance analysis and management reporting, ensuring financial information is accurate, timely and supports effective decision-making.
Budgeting & Forecasting Systems
Maintain and enhance budgeting and forecasting tools, ensuring alignment with financial structures and providing reliable,



accessible data that supports organisational planning and performance.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on capability development, accountability and continuous improvement.
Data, Insights & Business Intelligence
Support the development of dashboards, KPI reporting and business intelligence capabilities, delivering meaningful financial insights that support strategic and operational outcomes.
Governance, Compliance & Risk
Ensure compliance with financial standards, audit requirements and internal control frameworks while supporting strong governance, risk management and reporting integrity across the organisation.
What You Bring
Bachelor of Business (or equivalent)
CPA or CA qualification
Demonstrated expertise in finance systems, business systems and reporting processes
Strong management accounting experience including reconciliations, variance analysis and financial reporting
Advanced analytical, problem-solving and financial modelling skills
Experience leading and developing finance or accounting teams
Strong project management and stakeholder engagement capabilities
High level communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly
Strong understanding of governance, compliance and audit requirements
Experience within the health sector and knowledge of Victorian health funding models is highly desirable
Current Driver's Licence
Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
