As our new Water Resources Engineer, you will become part of our Water & Maritime team in Brisbane. You will work alongside experienced engineers, modellers and environmental specialists on projects across Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region. From flood risk assessments and catchment management to river and coastal resilience projects, you will contribute to solutions that help communities adapt to future challenges while developing your career in an international engineering consultancy.
What you do as a Water Resources Engineer
As a Water Resources Engineer, you will help deliver innovative and sustainable water engineering solutions for clients across Australia. Working closely with senior engineers and technical specialists, you will apply your expertise in hydrology, hydraulics and water resource management to a wide range of projects.
Your responsibilities include:
Supporting the delivery of flood resilience, water resources and climate adaptation projects.
Undertaking hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to assess flood risks and inform decision-making.
Developing and applying hydraulic and hydrodynamic models for rivers, catchments and coastal environments.
Preparing technical reports, designs, proposals, budgets and project documentation.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across Australia and globally to deliver high-quality outcomes.

As our new Water Resources Engineer, you will become part of our Water & Maritime team in Australia. The team delivers engineering and scientific solutions across Australia, Current Zealand and the Pacific, specialising in water resources, flood resilience, river, coastal and waterfront infrastructure projects. You will work in a collaborative environment with engineers, scientists, modellers and consultants who are passionate about creating sustainable and resilient solutions for our clients and communities.
What you bring
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
At least 3-5 years of experience in flood risk assessment, hydrology, hydraulics or water resources engineering.
Experience with hydraulic modelling software, particularly TUFLOW. Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS is advantageous.
Proficiency in GIS and other data analysis or modelling tools. Experience with Python or MATLAB is beneficial.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical documentation.
An understanding of hydrological, hydraulic, geomorphological and ecological processes relevant to water resource management.
