Job Summary / Overview
The APS6 Support Needs Assessor is responsible for conducting support needs assessments and preparing evidence-based recommendations that support participant-centred outcomes. The role requires robust assessment capability, stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to analyse complex information while applying legislative and policy frameworks. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to support planning processes and service improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct support needs assessments through information gathering with participants and representatives
Analyse and synthesise participant information and external evidence
Prepare clear and accurate written assessment reports
Apply policies and procedures using sound judgement and a participant-centred approach
Communicate assessment processes and outcomes through virtual and face-to-face channels
Identify and elevate issues based on complexity, risk or policy limitations
Collaborate with colleagues to support planning activities and service improvements
Capture assessment information and outcomes using digital systems
Adapt assessment methods to suit participant needs and preferences
Provide mentoring and support to team members
Required Qualifications
Recognised tertiary qualification in an allied health discipline including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy,



Speech Pathology, Social Work, Dietetics, Exercise Physiology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Counselling or Psychotherapy
Alternatively, a tertiary qualification in a relevant health discipline including Registered Nursing, Enrolled Nursing, Education or Behaviour Support Practice
Experience administering support needs assessments or similar person-centred assessment frameworks
Strong commitment to person-centred and strengths-based approaches

Shared office environment including hot-desking
Working from home or remote locations as required
Regular in-person participant engagement
Extended periods of computer-based work
Use of telephony, business systems and video conferencing tools
Comfortable working in environments where assistance animals may be present
