Position Information
Prairiewood High School is a Year 7 to 12 comprehensive, co-educational and partially academically selective school of **** students. The school caters for a diverse student population with 1% of Aboriginal students and 87% of students from a wide range of non-English speaking backgrounds, including over 100 refugee students. The school has four Special Education classes. There are 60 academically selective students in eachyeargroup. The school is committed to extending its students within a culture that values excellence in teaching and learning; offers students and staff rich and innovative opportunities for learning andleadership, andactively promotes wellbeing and positive relationships. Specific Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
Proven ability to build and lead a cooperative, high-performing English faculty while contributing strategically as an effective member of the school's leadership team.




Demonstratedunderstanding and capacity to lead staff in supporting the learning needs of a diverse student body, including High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) students, within a culture ofhigh expectations.
Exceptional skills in fostering a positive, cohesive, and high-performing team environment that caters to a diverse range of staff experience levels, with a demonstrated ability to contribute proactively to the schoolexecutive and lead whole-school programs or activities.
Demonstrated capacity to lead whole-school literacy initiatives that improve outcomes for all students, supported by effective and innovative teaching practices within the English faculty.
General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6.



Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
