The Role
The College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary Science Teacher to join our team in a full-time position commencing in ****. The successful candidate will have a particular focus on Senior Psychology and Years 9-12 Science, with the ability to also teach Senior Biology highly desirable.
This is an exciting chance to join a collaborative Science faculty and inspire curiosity, critical thinking and a genuine interest in Psychology and the Sciences. You will bring strong curriculum and pedagogical knowledge, delivering engaging and rigorous learning experiences that support students to achieve their potential.
At Coomera Anglican College, teaching extends beyond the classroom. An important part of the teaching role is active involvement in College life, including pastoral care, sport, cocurricular programs and special events that enrich the student experience.
About You
We are looking for an engaging and enthusiastic educator with a genuine passion for Psychology and Science, who inspires curiosity, encourages critical thinking and brings contemporary practice to the classroom.
The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate
A passion for teaching Psychology and Science, with the ability to engage and inspire students across Years 9-12.
Experience teaching Senior Psychology, with the ability to teach Senior Biology highly desirable.
Strong curriculum and pedagogical knowledge,
with the ability to design and deliver engaging, rigorous and contemporary learning experiences.
An ability to differentiate effectively to meet diverse learning needs while maintaining high expectations and supporting robust student outcomes.
An ability to foster curiosity, critical thinking and scientific inquiry, encouraging students to develop a genuine interest in Psychology and the Sciences.
Ability to use digital technologies purposefully to enhance student learning and engagement.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive and respectful relationships with students, families, colleagues and the wider College community.
A desire to contribute positively and collaboratively to the College's Science faculty and broader College community.
An understanding of appropriate professional boundaries and standards when working with children and young people.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Secondary Education.
Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
Commitment to the Anglican ethos and active support for the values and culture of the College.
Previous experience in Learning Enhancement, Inclusive Education or Special Education is highly regarded.
