Job Description

We are seeking a customer-focused and highly organised
Outpatient Coordinator
to join our welcoming Outpatient Administration team on a casual basis. As an integral member of the team, you will contribute to exceptional patient care by ensuring a positive, efficient and supportive experience at every stage of the outpatient journey.
As the first point of contact for many patients and visitors, you will deliver exceptional customer service while coordinating a range of administrative processes, from referral management and pre-admissions through to service delivery and discharge. Working closely with Allied Health, Nursing teams and Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs), you will help create a positive and efficient experience for everyone who enters our service.
You will make an impact by:
Delivering exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, medical staff and colleagues
Providing a professional, welcoming and efficient reception service
Coordinating and managing outpatient referrals accurately and efficiently
Supporting administrative processes across the patient journey, including pre-admission, admission, service delivery and discharge
Ensuring referrals meet Health Fund and compensable funding requirements
Building positive working relationships with Allied Health, Nursing teams and VMOs
Contributing to a collaborative team culture focused on delivering outstanding patient experiences
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Solid computer and administrative skills with a high level of accuracy
Previous experience in a hospital, healthcare or medical administration environment
Proven ability to prioritise competing demands and work effectively in a fast-paced setting
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional customer service standards
A positive, adaptable and team-focused approach
The confidence to engage and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels

Qualifications
Certificate III in Business Administration or a related qualification (desirable)
Training in customer service principles within a service-focused environment
