Doomadgee State School is a Prep-Year 10 remote school located in the Gulf of Carpentaria. We deliver all eight Australian Curriculum learning areas across Prep-Year 10, with curriculum contextualised to the unique experiences of our students.

What the role will lead -
Working closely with the Principal and Deputy Principals, the Head of Curriculum will:
Lead the development,



implementation and review of whole-school curriculum, assessment and reporting practices.
Build teacher capability through instructional leadership, coaching, modelling and professional learning.
Support teachers to develop high-quality teaching and learning sequences aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
Strengthen consistency in planning, assessment, moderation and data-informed decision making.
Lead the continued implementation of Australian Curriculum Version 9.0.
Drive the school's whole-school approach to reading, including consistent evidence-informed reading practices.
Support teachers to effectively differentiate learning and respond to diverse student needs.
Work with leadership teams to monitor the intended and enacted curriculum and its impact on student outcomes.
Use student achievement and engagement data to identify priorities and monitor improvement.
Develop systems that make curriculum planning clearer, more sustainable and manageable for teachers.
Lead and support curriculum committees and professional learning.
Contribute to the school's Annual Implementation Plan and broader school improvement agenda.
