The Land Network Integration Centre requires a Senior Services Engineer to supplement its contractor workforce. This is a senior, hands-on technical role applying systems engineering principles to the integration, assurance and testing of complex, interdependent mission systems.
The role supports application, information, network and mission command systems operating across multiple security boundaries and operational contexts. You will help maintain system alignment, interface coherence and design integrity while supporting integration, experimentation and validation activities for Army and broader Defence objectives.
Working within a small specialist team, you will contribute to system integration, test and evaluation, incremental design evolution and the identification and management of integration risks. You will also engage with Defence organisations, projects and enabling ICT providers to resolve integration issues and support informed engineering decisions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain authoritative system design and architecture documentation describing integrated configurations, interfaces, dependencies and design intent.
Maintain technical engagement with Defence ICT and relevant stakeholders to assure alignment between implemented systems, architectural intent and integration requirements.
Deliver just-in-time technical training and mentor ADF personnel.
Provide responsive Level 3 technical support and routine maintenance of systems and operating environments.
Participate in project test and evaluation and risk-reduction events.
Conduct configuration management of hardware, software and system artefacts across fixed and deployable production domains.
Perform technical integration testing before configuration updates or releases.
Support innovation proposals and the integration of Army battle management systems, mission applications and partner network capabilities.
Develop CIS technical documentation for Joint and Coalition activities, including JMEI, networking instructions and NETOPS artefacts.
Produce written and oral engineering reports covering findings, risks, integration issues and recommended actions.
Provide system-level technical advice through the Land Integration Framework – Digital.
Assess emerging technologies, architectures and integration approaches.
Support the Coalition Services Engineering Lead with outcomes and directed tasks.
Provide authoritative technical advice to ADF, APS and contractor personnel.
