This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role in one of Western Australia's most important public services and influence safety outcomes at a strategic level, contribute to a service relied upon by millions of Western Australians, and work with a passionate team committed to operational excellence.
As Manager PTA Rail Safety Accreditation, you will lead the strategic oversight and continual improvement of the PTA's Rail Safety Accreditation and Rail Safety Management System. You will ensure the organisation maintains a robust safety framework that supports compliance, operational excellence and continuous improvement across our rail network.
While experience within the rail industry is highly regarded, we recognise that exceptional safety leaders come from many sectors. If you've successfully led safety, risk, assurance, governance or regulatory functions within a complex operational environment, we encourage you to apply.
Working closely with senior leaders across the organisation, you will:
Lead the development, implementation and continual improvement of safety management and accreditation frameworks.
Provide expert advice to executives on safety governance, regulatory compliance, risk and assurance matters.
Build strong relationships with regulators and key stakeholders to ensure effective management of accreditation obligations.
Oversee safety assurance activities including audits, reviews, investigations and performance reporting.
Lead and develop a team of specialist professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
Support major projects, operational initiatives and strategic programs by ensuring safety considerations are embedded into decision-making.
Monitor emerging risks, legislative changes and industry best practice to strengthen organisational safety performance.
This role offers significant influence across the organisation and the chance to shape the future of safety assurance within a critical public transport network.
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
Experience leading safety, risk, assurance, compliance or governance functions in a complex operational environment.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation, standards and regulatory requirements.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing, developing and motivating professional teams.
Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence at senior and executive levels.
Experience delivering audit, assurance, continuous improvement and organisational change initiatives.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in safety, risk, engineering, business, law, governance or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
