Salary: $79,000 to $81,000 plus superannuation per annum

Our client is seeking a full-time Chef to join their restaurant located in Seville, Victoria.
n
Tasks required include:
n
n
Ensure food is prepared to a consistently high standard.
n
Menu items are completed and delivered ensuring customer satisfaction.
n
Ensure all food is produced within budget requirements: minimising waste and costs.
n
Ensure hygiene standards are maintained at a sufficiently high level and an approved food safety plan is implemented.
n
Monitor and maintain all kitchen equipment in correct operating order.
n
Liaise with management to ensure consistency in product and materials.
n
Planning menus and specials
n
Enforce nutrition and sanitation standards for kitchen operations.
n
Ensuring a high level of team performance
n
Receiving and storing food to health dept requirements
n
Attend meetings as required
n
Prepare and cook high quality food according to menu guidelines and recipes.
n
Supervise members of the kitchen team who are responsible to you
n
Help to create good communication between floor and kitchen staff




n
Receive and account for suppliers and deliveries
n
Assist with the training of staff, including any apprentices and trainees
n
Follow correct hygienic food handling practices
n
Follow the restaurants regular cleaning and waste disposal practices
n
Use safe work practices and support others to use them
n
Maintain kitchen equipment and plant in good condition
n
Demonstrate sound teamwork / organisational skills
n
Monitor revenue and cost performance
n

Requirements:
n
n
Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma or higher in Hospitality
n
At least three (3) years of relevant experience as a Chef
n
Prior experience preparing and cooking Italian cuisine is preferred
n
Ability to work efficiently in a quick-paced commercial kitchen environment.
n
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
n
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a kitchen team.
