The role of Nurse Unit Manager - Surgical Outpatients is a newly created position that will provide opportunities to build a service and a team that supports access to care for the community of Northern Tasmania.
The surgical team works within a strong interdisciplinary framework providing opportunities for professional collaboration.
The Role
Lead and coordinate the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality outpatient care across Surgical Outpatient Services, Launceston General Hospital, providing clinical leadership within a collaborative multidisciplinary setting.
Manage and support nursing, clinical coordination and administration teams, including workforce planning, staff performance and development, clinic activity, patient flow, scheduling, waitlists and referral management.
Oversee service performance, quality and safety, financial and resource management, data compliance and continuous improvement to achieve agreed clinical and operational outcomes.
You will need
Demonstrated leadership and management experience in a complex clinical or outpatient healthcare environment,



with strong contemporary nursing practice and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
Highly developed skills in workforce, resource and performance management, with the ability to use data and service activity information to drive effective decision-making and improvement.
Relevant nursing qualifications and registration, with demonstrated commitment to quality and safety, work health and safety, safeguarding and continuous professional development.
Details of appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$126,036 to $132,932 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement ****.
