About the role
The primary purpose of this role is to lead the installation, commissioning, servicing, and support of industrial automation and machinery solutions across customer sites. This includes managing on-site installation activities, coordinating contractors, diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical equipment issues, and delivering technical support both on-site and remotely.
The role requires close collaboration with Engineering, Software, and Customer Service teams to ensure equipment is installed, commissioned, and maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Senior Machinery Installer is also responsible for training customer personnel, documenting field service activities, and contributing to the continuous improvement of service processes, maintenance procedures, and operational documentation.
This position involves regular travel within Australia and occasional overseas travel and requires flexibility to support customer requirements outside normal business hours when necessary.
What you'll be doing
Manage and lead site installations and assembly of machinery. This may include managing external electrical contractors on site.
Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with plant and machinery that may be mechanical (incl. pneumatics and hydraulics) or electrical in nature. Work directly with Engineering and Software teams as required to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Troubleshooting assistance may be provided on site or remotely, either online or other the phone.




Training of client staff on both the operation and maintenance of equipment.
Completion of field service reports detailing work carried out in the field, and to log the field service report for future reference.
Always ensure that JSA's are completed to ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner.
Actively participate in improving safety standards through reporting of all hazards, incidents and injuries as soon as reasonably practicable (including near misses).
Ability to Travel to customer locations when necessary. Time spent travelling can be up to 30% of the time.
Actively participate in developing and improving internal documentation and processes, including SOP's, preventative maintenance checklists, and spare parts recommendations.
Perform other tasks as deemed necessary by management staff.
What we're looking for
Australian Mechanical Trade Qualification or equivalent (Certificate Level III Minimum)
Post Trade Qualifications (Highly Regarded)
Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a machinery Installer/Fitter in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in servicing and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment.
A strong level of mechanical aptitude and experience with conveyors, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Welding experience (MIG & ARC)
Ability to read and understand mechanical engineering drawings, electrical schematics and installation manuals and instructions.
Knowledge of electrical components, and the ability to operate and understand PC based HMI controls.
Able to work unsupervised, having valuable time management skills that allow you to meet or exceed scheduled deadlines.
