About the Position
The role administers and enforces Council's Local Laws, Animal Control and Community Laws programs with enthusiasm while being able to interpret and apply relevant legislation in a consistent, courteous and reasonable manner. You will:
Investigate a range of legislative controls focusing on, but not limited to, animal management, protection of amenity through Local Laws, rubbish dumping and parking
Gather evidence, issue infringements and prepare briefs of evidence and reports that support the giving of evidence as a witness to achieve successful outcomes
Impound and dispose of abandoned vehicles, shopping trolleys and illegal signs in accordance with Council's Policies and Procedures
Participation in rostered Monday to Friday shifts and weekend shifts, regular weekend and after-hours work (overtime and allowances will apply)
About You
You will be able to work using your own initiative and be able to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders in a confident and polite manner
Well-developed organisational skills, including the ability to deal with high volume workload, manage time, plan and organise own work
Demonstrated ability to ensure IT platforms and programs are optimised and specifically customised to ensure the successful delivery of administrative functions and responsibilities




Highly developed writing skills including the ability to prepare correspondence and reports in response to matters of varying complexity
Requirement of the position
A Certificate IV in Animal Control and Regulation or Local Government (Regulatory Services), or similar qualification is desirable
Maintaining a current Victorian Driver's Licence is mandatory
Right to work in Australia
