About the business and the role

D&T; Hydraulics is a local family-owned cylinder repair & manufacturing business. The company employs over 100 highly skilled employees from Boilermakers, Welders, Fitters, Machinists, Drafts people and TA's. This dedicated workforce is supported by technical, sales and support staff guaranteeing projects and the workforce is managed in a professional manner without compromising, quality, safety or the setting.

We require a motivated & experienced Fitter / Fitter & Turner to join our expanding facility.

Key Responsibilities

- Repair, overhaul, disassemble, inspect, and reassemble hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic components.
- Use measuring equipment accurately to inspect and verify component specifications.
- Prepare and operate workshop machinery, including drilling, grinding, milling, and machining equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Manufacture, modify, and repair components to required tolerances and standards.
- Follow instructions from Supervisors and work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and workmanship.
- Work collaboratively within a team environment to achieve production targets.
- Be flexible and available to work different shifts when required.
- Adhere to all workplace health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
- Assist with the training and development of apprentices and new team members.




- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maximise production efficiency through teamwork, innovation, and lean manufacturing principles.

About You

- Trade Qualified Fitter and Fitter and Turner.
- Minimum 3 years' experience repairing hydraulic cylinders and components.
- Competent in the use of measuring equipment and precision tools.
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Desirable Qualifications

- Rigging and Dogging Ticket.
- Forklift Licence.
