Mackay Base Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Operating Theatre team on a seven-week contract from 14 September to 31 October 2026. Based in Mackay, Queensland, this role offers the opportunity to work in a energetic surgical environment with a competitive remuneration package of AUD$55.65 to AUD$70.82 per hour. You'll be rostered across rotating 8- and 10-hour shifts, including morning, afternoon, and night duties, with a maximum of 80 hours per fortnight.

Preferred Requirements





- Recent and demonstrated operating theatre experience in a clinical setting
- Competency in scrub, scout, or anaesthetic nursing roles
- Ability to work effectively across rotating 8- and 10-hour shifts, including nights
- Knowledge of ieMR and proficiency using electronic medical record systems
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a surgical team

Preferred Qualifications

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia
- Previous experience working within Queensland Health or Mackay Health and Hospital Service
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications or certifications in perioperative nursing
