Hotel Receptionist / Barista – Full-Time Day Shifts

The Hughenden Hotel is looking for a friendly, reliable and versatile Cafe Barista & Hotel Receptionist to join our team on a full-time basis.

This is a genuinely varied hospitality role. Some shifts will be spent working in our cafe, making coffee and looking after customers, while other shifts will be at hotel reception, welcoming guests and assisting with bookings and enquiries.

If you enjoy working with people, like variety in your working week and are comfortable moving between different responsibilities, this could be a great fit.

Cafe & Barista Duties

Prepare and serve quality coffee, espresso drinks and other beverages

Provide friendly and efficient service to hotel guests and local cafe customers

Assist with simple food preparation, heating and plating

Maintain a clean, organised and well-presented cafe

Assist with opening, closing and general cafe duties

Hotel Reception Duties

Welcome guests and provide friendly, qualified customer service

Complete guest check-ins and check-outs accurately and efficiently

Answer telephone calls, emails and general enquiries

Assist with reservations and booking enquiries

Process payments and assist with day-to-day reception administration





Respond to guest requests, concerns or complaints professionally

Help ensure guests have an enjoyable and comfortable stay

What We're Looking For

Previous barista and/or hotel reception experience is preferred, but we are happy to train the right person

Confident coffee-making skills would be highly regarded

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Friendly, outgoing and professional manner

Ability to multitask and stay organised in a busy environment

Reliable, punctual and comfortable working independently when required

A positive attitude and willingness to help across different areas of the hotel

Flexibility to work a roster across weekdays and weekends

The Benefits

Our hotel and cafe operate during the day operating from 6:30am / 7:00am to 3:00pm, so there are no late afternoon or night shifts.
