Blacktown City Council
Blacktown
Professional expertise. Personal purpose.
Join Blacktown City Council as a Resource Management Officer - Multi-Unit Dwellings and help improve waste and recycling outcomes across our growing city. As part of the FOGO and Resource Recovery team, you manage projects, education programs and waste initiatives that support cleaner, safer and more sustainable multi-unit developments.
You spend your time both in the field and in the office. You inspect bin rooms, complete door knocks, meet with residents, strata managers, real estate agents and property managers, and respond to issues such as recycling contamination, illegal dumping and waste room management. You review development applications, assess waste management requirements and work with colleagues to improve outcomes through a balanced approach of education, engagement and compliance.
Your expertise helps deliver practical solutions that residents see every day. You support behaviour change programs, provide waste and recycling advice, develop initiatives that improve resource recovery and build strong partnerships across the community. The work directly contributes to cleaner neighbourhoods and a healthier local environment.
In return, you gain meaningful work, employment stability, flexible working arrangements and opportunities to continue developing your career. We are looking for someone with waste industry experience,
strong community engagement skills and a genuine interest in helping people understand and improve waste management practices. If you enjoy a mix of office-based work and face-to-face engagement, this role could be for you.
At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and outstanding teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:
- a secure, permanent, full-time role with one of Australia's largest councils
- an entry level salary commencing at $1,866.69 per week
- a 35-hour working week
- a car allowance
- access to Council's flextime arrangement
- 12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements
- ongoing training and development support
- access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.
