Position Title: Participant Support Officer (APS4 Equivalent)
Location: Wollongong
Contract Duration: Initial contract to December 31st with strong potential for long term extensions
About the Role

You will play a vital part in listening to participant needs, managing daily workflows, and helping people access the tailored support pathways they require.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively listen to participants, families, and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide sensitive, tailored guidance.
- Conduct desktop reviews and transpose accurate information into specialized online systems.
- Manage daily workflow allocations, prioritize tasks, and contribute recommendations to assist the broader team.
- Handle complex participant enquiries with patience, empathy, and clear communication.
- Undertake suitability assessments to help connect participants with appropriate planning streams.
- Make warm outbound calls to participants, providers, and key community stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with team members,
offering mutual support and contributing to process improvements.
What You Will Bring
- A warm, empathetic communication style with exceptional active listening skills.
- The ability to remain calm, thoughtful, and reassuring when handling sensitive or challenging conversations.
- Sound organizational abilities to manage competing priorities with care and accuracy.
- Capability to interpret and apply policy guidelines and administrative frameworks thoughtfully.
- Experience using computer software applications, including database tools and Microsoft Office.
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for making a positive difference in the community.
