With over 250 people based in Australia, Plenti is of a size where everyone can make a difference in their role and help us realise our very big ambitions as a team, as we go about building Australia’s best lender.

Plenti is a founder led business that launched in 2014, listed on the ASX since 2020 with annual revenue of over $250 million and a loan portfolio of over $3 billion.

About the role:
As a Collections Specialist, you’ll work with Plenti customers who have fallen behind on their loan repayments. Your role will be to understand their situation, have supportive conversations and help find practical solutions to get them back on track.

You’ll manage a portfolio of accounts across different stages of arrears, negotiate payment arrangements and support customers experiencing financial difficulty.

You’ll also work closely with our Credit, Legal and Customer Support teams and external partners to manage accounts effectively and ensure everything is handled fairly, professionally and in line with regulations.

We’re looking for someone who is confident, resilient and genuinely cares about helping customers. You’ll enjoy having conversations, solving problems and working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage a portfolio of overdue loan accounts and work with customers to resolve arrears

- Respond to enquiries and proactively contact customers who are behind on repayments

- Negotiate payment plans and arrangements and assess hardship requests and debt proposals

- Arrange skip tracing, bankruptcy actions and external referrals when required

- Keep accurate records of customer conversations, payment plans and recovery actions

- Help improve and document collections processes

- Work with internal teams including Credit, Legal and Customer Support, as well as external collection and legal providers

- Ensure all collections activity complies with relevant laws, regulations and company policies, including the NCCP Act, Privacy Act, AML/KYC requirements and ASIC guidelines

- Take part in training, quality checks and continuous improvement activities

About you:

- Experience in a fast-paced customer service environment, such as contact centres, retail, hospitality or financial services

- Collections experience is a plus, but not essential if you have strong transferable skills

- Confident and empathetic communicator who is comfortable having difficult conversations

- Valuable judgement and problem-solving skills, with a focus on finding the right outcome for both the customer and the business

- Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities

- Comfortable learning new systems and technology

- An interest in finance and helping customers, with a desire to build a career in financial services
