Experienced Social Worker required for this Northern Territory service. This is a remote 60 bed hospital. The service requires high level skills and demonstrated cultural competence working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population. There is a high incidence of domestic and family violence, child neglect and abuse reporting and statutory child removal.

Long term contract – 6-12 months ++ or permanent if preferred.

We are looking for an applicant with hospital-based experience including experience in an emergency department and general medicine wards, complex caseload management, and ability to work autonomously and within an MDT. Desirable skills also include experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, regional or remote hospital experience and ability to work rostered weekends.

I’ve had great feedback from the 50+ allied health locums I’ve placed here over the years. To be considered, you must have:

- Experience NOT including placements providing clinical social work services within a hospital setting (Emergency Department), including crisis intervention and short term support
- Strong knowledge and experience in domestic and family violence risk assessment, safety planning and support services
- Experience working with child protection concerns, including mandatory reporting requirements, and liaising with relevant agencies
- Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and after-hours shifts, on call (penalty rates apply)




- This role is NOT suitable for new graduates or candidates who don't have PAID hospital experience

Cases include:

- Sexual violence
- ED presentations
- Crisis response (adults and paediatrics)
- Guardianship
- Advocacy
- NDIS applications
- Inpatients only – ED, acute wards – general medical, surgical, palliative care, rehabilitation, maternity and paediatrics
- You must have robust crisis response and experience with victims of domestic and sexual violence
- Join a team of clinicians at different levels from Director, Team leaders, SWs, DTs, OTs, PTs, SPs, AHAs, ALOs, Admin

You must have relevant experience.

This role requires you to be eligible for AASW membership.

Overseas trained Social Workers, please do not respond unless your qualifications have been assessed by the AASW.
