Core Laboratories Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Lab Analyst to join our Perth laboratory team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Chemist or Laboratory Analyst with fluids laboratory experience to develop their career in a professional petroleum and fluid analysis environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine analytical testing, processing laboratory data, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the delivery of reliable and timely laboratory results to our clients.

About the Role

As a Laboratory Analyst I, you will work as part of a technical laboratory team conducting analytical testing on fluid samples in accordance with approved procedures and quality standards.

You will be expected to work safely and accurately, meet testing schedules, maintain comprehensive documentation, and communicate effectively with senior laboratory personnel and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct routine analytical testing of fluid samples in accordance with approved procedures, work instructions, and laboratory methods.

- Perform laboratory testing accurately and within established turnaround times.

- Follow all applicable Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), health, safety, and environmental requirements.

- Accurately record, process, review, and maintain laboratory data and test results.

- Identify and report non-conformances, quality issues, equipment concerns, and safety hazards.

- Assist with investigations and corrective actions where required.

- Maintain accurate laboratory records, worksheets, forms, and other technical documentation.

- Assist senior laboratory personnel with the preparation of client reports and technical documentation.

- Support laboratory activities including sample handling, preparation, equipment checks, consumables management, and general laboratory operations.





- Ensure laboratory equipment, work areas, and testing activities are maintained to the required standards.

- Seek guidance from senior personnel where procedures or instructions are unclear.

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving laboratory efficiency, quality, and service delivery.

- Maintain strict confidentiality of company and client information.

- Assist with training and knowledge sharing as required.

- Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by management.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- A minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Chemist, Laboratory Analyst, or in a similar laboratory role.

- At least 1 year of experience in a fluids laboratory, preferably within the petroleum, oil & gas, chemical, or related industry.

- Experience with analytical testing and laboratory data processing.

- Basic Gas Chromatography experience

- A relevant qualification in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Laboratory Science, or a related discipline.

- Demonstrated ability to follow laboratory procedures and perform routine analytical testing independently.

- Good understanding of laboratory quality and safety requirements.

- Solid attention to detail and a commitment to accurate results.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and practical laboratory experience may also be considered.
