Coffey Testing is currently seeking experienced and motivated Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technicians to join our Coffey Testing FIFO Perth Team for opportunities in WA and, as we bring on board new projects, around Australia.
A bit about us
Coffey Testing is one of Australia’s largest construction materials testing providers. We have been delivering testing services to the transport infrastructure, oil and gas and mining industries for over 65 years. We have an extensive network of permanent and site-specific testing facilities located across Australia, including in some of Australia’s most remote locations.
Our clients choose us to provide deep insights into the properties of the materials they’re dealing with. We apply specialised testing and analysis services, using international best practice and conformance standards to achieve detailed, quality results. We provide independent NATA accredited testing services.
What do the FIFO roles involve?
The successful candidates will need to be able to commit to a working on a 2:1 roster. Some of the tasks and duties will include:
- Undertaking a variety of manual tasks in the field, including preparing and testing soil, aggregates & concrete samples;
- Liaising with Coffey Testing’s client onsite on testing schedules, procedures and results, representing the Coffey Testing brand;
- Ensuring testing is performed in accordance with industry standards (AS1289, AS1012);
- Undertaking routine quality assurance checks and calibrations, ensuring all equipment is maintained; and
- Ensuring accuracy of test results and timely output of work.
About you
The ideal candidate will have experience in soil and concrete testing, and will demonstrate some or all of the following criteria:
- Has demonstrated experience in laboratory and field testing in soils, aggregates and/or concrete to relevant standards (AS1289, AS1141, AS1012);
- Has an understanding of NATA ISO/IEC 17025 requirements;
- NATA approved Signatory;
- Ideally holds a current NDM Radiation license (highly advantageous);
- Holds a current manual driver's licence (required);
- Demonstrates an unwavering commitment to quality assurance and workplace safety and;
- Is physically fit and able to perform a manual labour-intensive role which includes heavy lifting.
The successful applicant will undergo a medical assessment including a drug & alcohol screen as part of our recruitment process.
