Health and Safety Advisor – Exploration | Contract Chance with Epigroup

Epigroup is a leading health and safety consultancy, helping businesses build healthier, safer and more resilient workplaces. We're currently recruiting on behalf of an established exploration company for a Health and Safety Advisor to join their team on a contract basis, driving safety culture and compliance across an active exploration project.

About the role

As the successful Health and Safety Advisor, you will be reporting directly to the Exploration Manager, you will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, maintaining a safe working environment, and managing safety systems in line with company and regulatory standards. This is a contract position from September to mid-December, with the option to continue into 2027. The role is field-based, transitioning to office-based January–March/April, with an extended roster due to project remoteness.

Key responsibilities

- Maintain and update existing safety systems

- Conduct site workplace inspections

- Lead incident investigations

- Facilitate and audit risk assessments and JHAs

- Conduct health and hygiene testing

- Lead safety meetings, including toolboxes and pre-starts

- Conduct VOCs

- Generate safety reports and correlate safety performance statistics

- Manage worker rehabilitation and return-to-work processes

- Manage traffic and journey management processes

About you

- Cert IV in WHS





- Demonstrated knowledge of the Mining Act and Regulations

- iCAM qualified/experienced

- Current First Aid qualifications

- Strong report writing and analytical skills

- Excellent organisational and communication skills

- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation and presentation skills

- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

- Familiarity with the Stems System (highly regarded)

- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (highly regarded)
