About the Role
As a Teacher Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers to support student learning, wellbeing and engagement across the Junior School.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting teachers with the delivery of learning activities and classroom programs.
- Assisting individual students and small groups with their learning.
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
- Supervising students during class, break times and other school activities.
- Assisting with learning resources, classroom preparation and administrative tasks.
- Supporting student wellbeing and positive behaviour practices.
About You
You are a team player who genuinely enjoys working with children and building positive relationships.
You bring a proactive and supportive approach and are committed to helping every student succeed.
You will have:
- Experience working with children in a school or similar environment (desirable).
- Ability to work Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 3pm/3.30pm.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and colleagues.
- Initiative, flexibility and a positive attitude.
- A commitment to supporting student wellbeing and learning.
- Alignment with the Christian ethos and values of Redeemer Lutheran College.
Requirements
- Current Blue Card or eligibility to obtain one.
- Certificate III or Certificate IV in Education Support, School Based Education Support or related field.
