Title: Injury Management Business Partner
Employment: Full time / Ongoing
Salary: $110,000 - 120,000 per annum (dependent on experience plus $15,900 NFP Salary Packaging)
Location: Surrey Hills VIC or Hobart TAS

Reporting to the National Manager People Operations, the Injury Management Business Partner leads Able Australia's national approach to early intervention, injury management, workers' compensation and return to work.

This is an influential opportunity for an experienced professional to apply their expertise across a complex, multi-state organisation.

By improving recovery and return-to-work outcomes, strengthening prevention practices and reducing lost time, claim costs and workers' compensation premium exposure, your work will directly support the wellbeing of employees who deliver vital services within our communities.

About the Role

- Lead complex work-related and non-work-related injury, workers' compensation and return-to-work cases from initial notification through to sustainable recovery or resolution.
- Coordinate early intervention, rehabilitation, suitable duties and workplace adjustments in partnership with employees, leaders, insurers, rehabilitation providers and treating practitioners.
- Develop and monitor claim strategies that improve recovery outcomes and reduce lost time, claim duration, costs and workers' compensation premium exposure.
- Analyse injury and claims performance, providing expert advice and strategic recommendations to leaders and senior stakeholders.
- Coach leaders and deliver training to strengthen injury reporting, early intervention and return-to-work capability across the organisation.
- Ensure cases are managed consistently, sensitively and in accordance with workers' compensation, return-to-work, privacy and recordkeeping requirements.





Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:

- Demonstrated experience managing complex workers' compensation, injury-management and return-to-work cases.
- Strong knowledge of relevant workers' compensation and return-to-work legislation, ideally across multiple Australian jurisdictions.
- Return-to-Work Coordinator certification or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Experience working with insurers, brokers, rehabilitation providers, treating practitioners and other external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical capability, including experience interpreting claims data, costs, trends and premium impacts.
- Well-developed communication, coaching and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage sensitive matters confidently and compassionately.
- A practical, person-centred approach supported by sound judgement, confidentiality and procedural fairness.
