The Geelong College invites applications from outstanding educators for the position of Head of Department - Mathematics.

This role combines a full-time teaching position with a three-year fixed-term leadership appointment (0.2 FTE time release) to provide strategic academic and operational leadership within the Senior School Mathematics Department.

The Head of Department - Mathematics is responsible for the leadership, development and oversight of the Mathematics curriculum across Years 9-12, including Year 9 and 10 Mathematics and the VCE Mathematics Program.

The successful applicant will lead high-quality teaching and learning, foster a culture of professional growth and collective efficacy, and use evidence of student learning and achievement to drive continuous improvement.

Experience teaching VCE General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods and/or Specialist Mathematics is highly desirable.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must demonstrate the following:





- Evidence of Right to Work in Australia
- Relevant educational qualification and experience in a similar role
- Current Victorian Institute of Teachers (VIT) registration
- Completion of the Protecting Children - Mandatory Reporting and other Obligations Non Government Schools module
- Current Certifications in:
- First Aid (HLTAID011)
- CPR (HTLAID 009)
- Asthma Management

- Completion of either:

- The College's anaphylaxis training, or
- Accredited course: 22578VIC - Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis
