Westernport Water's core functions are to provide drinking water, recycled water and wastewater services to properties and communities throughout our district.
We are one of 18 water corporations operating and reporting to the State Government of Victoria.
We are responsible for servicing 23,688 customers from 27 townships across an area covering 300 square kilometres, encompassing Millowl (Phillip Island) and mainland communities from The Gurdies to Archies Creek.
The region has one of the highest ratios of visitors to residents of any destination in Australia. During peak periods, there can be approximately 120 visitors to every resident.

About the role
Senior Advisor ICT- Ongoing, Full Time
Band 6 - $93,804 to $120,062
Westernport Water is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Advisor ICT to lead the delivery and ongoing improvement of the corporation's technology capability. You'll play a key role in ensuring our ICT services, infrastructure, business systems and digital platforms are reliable, secure and fit for purpose, while supporting organisational priorities and delivering better outcomes for our people and customers.
We're looking for an experienced ICT professional who brings strong technical knowledge, project management capability and a genuine customer and stakeholder focus. You'll build effective relationships across the business and with service providers, understand business needs, manage technology services and projects, and turn opportunities into practical technology solutions that make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities Areas:
- Lead day-to-day ICT operations and service delivery,
ensuring services are customer-focused, secure, reliable, resilient, high-performing and aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
- Provide strategic ICT leadership and governance across business systems, infrastructure, cloud services, end-user technologies and associated ICT services.
- Lead the lifecycle management and optimisation of technology platforms, partnering with system owners, stakeholders and service providers to maximise technology investment, improve business capability and drive innovation.
- Lead complex ICT projects and digital initiatives, including system improvements, technology upgrades, integrations and technology-enabled business outcomes.
- Manage ICT service providers and vendors, ensuring secure, reliable and resilient delivery of contracted infrastructure, network and operational services.
- Provide technology advice and leadership on opportunities, risks, priorities and investment decisions, while supporting cybersecurity, information protection, risk management, data and information management.
- Build capability and foster a cooperative, customer-focused culture, including technology training, support and guidance on complex matters.
- Maintain effective ICT governance and operational practices, including documentation, asset management, reporting, planning, budgeting, risk management and continuous improvement, while ensuring compliance with organisational and legislative requirements and promoting a positive safety culture.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification in information technology, computer science, business systems or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated professional experience.
- Significant experience in ICT service delivery, technology leadership, business systems, infrastructure, digital platforms and continuous improvement within a complex organisation.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with business stakeholders and system owners to improve technology capability, optimise existing systems and deliver business outcomes.
- Proven experience managing high level and complex ICT projects, technology vendors and managed service providers, including service performance, governance and continuous improvement activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ICT governance, cybersecurity, risk management and contemporary technology practices,
with the ability to provide sound advice and influence outcomes across the organisation.
- Current driver's licence suitable for Victoria.

- Demonstrated capacity to assess and optimise existing technology platforms, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver solutions that enhance business capability, efficiency, service quality and user experience.
- Demonstrated ICT leadership and service delivery capability, with experience leading teams, setting priorities, managing competing demands and maintaining accountability for the performance, availability, security and quality of technology services.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex and high‑profile ICT projects, technology transformation and continuous improvement initiatives, with strong capability in project governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement and delivery assurance.
