Sourdough Society Pty Ltd, trading as Redland Bay Bakery, is seeking a qualified and experienced Chef for a genuine, ongoing full-time position.

ABOUT THE ROLE

n

The Chef will prepare and cook high-quality food, contribute to menu development and support the efficient operation of the bakery's commercial kitchen.

n

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

n

n
- Plan menus in consultation with management and kitchen staff
n
- Estimate food, ingredient and labour requirements
n
- Order ingredients and monitor inventory
n
- Prepare, season and cook menu items according to established recipes
n
- Monitor food quality during preparation, cooking and presentation
n
- Maintain consistent portion sizes and presentation standards
n
- Develop seasonal dishes and contribute to menu improvements
n
- Manage dietary requirements and allergen controls
n
- Enforce food-safety, hygiene and workplace-safety procedures
n
- Maintain a clean, organised and compliant kitchen
n
- Minimise food waste and support effective cost control
n




- Train and supervise junior kitchen employees when required
n
- Coordinate kitchen operations during busy service periods
n

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

n

n
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management or an equivalent relevant qualification
n
- At least one year of relevant commercial kitchen experience
n
- Demonstrated experience in cooking, food preparation and menu planning
n
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen management
n
- Experience with stock management, portion control and waste reduction
n
- Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills
n
- Ability to work effectively in a quick-paced commercial kitchen
n
- Availability for early mornings, weekends and public holidays as rostered
n

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

n

n
- Experience preparing breakfast, lunch, pastry or bakery-related menu items
n
- Experience training or supervising junior kitchen employees
n
