The Opportunity:

n

Komatsu is looking for an experienced Mobile Plant Mechanic / Diesel Fitter to join our Mount Isa Branch and work on a dedicated FIFO arrangement from Townsville to a customer site in regional Queensland.

n

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with one customer, at one site, taking ownership of the maintenance, diagnostics and repair of Komatsu equipment in a highly focused field service environment.

n

You'll fly from Townsville to site for your 7 days on, with flights, accommodation and meals provided, before returning home for your 7 days off.

n

Working Wednesday to Tuesday on a 5:30am – 5:30pm day-shift roster, you'll be responsible for keeping Komatsu equipment operating safely and reliably, while building a solid working relationship with the customer and supporting the wider Komatsu team.

What you'll be doing

n

n
- Carry out scheduled maintenance, servicing and repairs on Komatsu equipment
n
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues
n
- Complete breakdowns and repairs safely and efficiently
n
- Work closely with the customer to support equipment availability and reliability
n
- Complete accurate service reports and maintenance documentation
n
- Maintain Komatsu's high standards of safety, quality and workmanship
n

What we are looking for:

n

n
- Trade qualification as a Mobile Plant Technician / Diesel Fitter or equivalent
n
- Previous Komatsu experience is essential
n
- Previous experience working in a mining environment is highly regarded
n
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability
n
- Ability to work confidently with mechanical and electrical systems
n
- Understanding of mine-site HSE requirements and standards
n
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a site-based team
n
- Commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship
