Atlas Partners
Melbourne
Our client is one of Australia's most recognised national sporting organisations - a business that lives and breathes its season, where finance isn't a back‑office function but a genuine part of making things run. Atlas Partners is exclusively partnering with them to find their next Accounts Officer.
This is more than a transactional AP role. You'll be the glue that holds the Financial Control team together heading into a critical season. You are someone who can bring order, consistency and a calm head to a fast‑moving, high‑volume environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll take true end‑to‑end ownership of the accounts payable function - processing, payment runs, creditor management, PO compliance and credit card/expense administration. You'll be relied on to keep things moving, flag issues before they become problems, and bring a genuine "doer" mentality to the admin work that keeps the business on track.
You’ll also play a real role in educating the business - helping non‑finance teams understand and stick to purchase order processes, with the confidence to hold your ground when people try to cut corners, while staying approachable and easy to work with.
What You’ll Bring
- Solid AP/accounts experience, ideally with exposure to D365 F&O; or Basware (one or the other highly desirable)
- A genuinely solid personality - approachable, friendly, but firm when it counts
- The ability to prioritise, self‑manage and operate with real autonomy
- Strong communication skills across all levels of a busy organisation
- A proactive, stable, "can‑do" attitude - someone who separates the noise from the work and just gets on with it
- Genuine curiosity about how a large, complex organisation operates

What’s on Offer
- $85,000 - $95,000 package, with flexibility for the right person
- Hybrid working - 3 days in a vibrant CBD office, 2 days from home
- Genuine mentorship from an experienced Financial Controller and finance leadership team
- Learning and development pathways, with potential support toward CPA/CA study
- A close‑knit, collaborative team culture where you won't be doing this alone
- The chance to work behind the scenes of one of the country's most iconic sporting brands
Sound Like You?
If you're looking for a role where your personality and reliability matter as much as your technical skill, and you want to be part of a team gearing up for its biggest season yet, we'd love to hear from you.
