About the role

We are seeking a Full time Accounts Receivable Officer with proven experience in medical and pathology billing to join our team at Clinpath Pathology in Mile End. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for processing accounts, ensuring billing complies with Medicare legislation, and responding to patient accounts queries via phone and email.

This position is full-time and is rostered Monday to Friday, 9:00am and 5:00pm. You will join a supportive team that values collaboration and teamwork, within an interesting and rewarding healthcare environment. The successful candidate will have strong customer service skills, exceptional attention to detail, and proven reconciliation skills.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Administer the debt collection process including follow up of overdue accounts and answering all enquires in line with procedure.
- Assist with all tasks in the Accounts Receivable team, including invoicing, receipting, rejections, banking, refund enquiries and outgoing mailing requirements.
- Provide timely and professional customer service to patient queries received via phone and email, documenting details against the relevant patient episode in Laboratory Patient Support System.
- Liaising with internal staff to provide billing information
- Provide quotes for all Non Medicare Rebatable tests and all uninsured patients.
- Investigate and resolve failed health fund electronic payments and billing issues.
- Process claim rejections across Medicare and health fund systems.
- Allocate and maintain correct pay codes in line with audit requirements.

To be successful you will have:

Essential

- Proven experience (3+years) in an accounts officer position will be considered favourably.
- Experience working for a health fund or within pathology and/or working knowledge of the Medicare billing process will be highly regarded.
- High degree of accuracy,



attention to detail with investigation and analysis skills.
- Experience providing customer service to external customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Demonstrated ability to show initiative and prioritise workload.
- Solid MS Office skills with intermediate to advanced Excel.
- High degree of initiative and the ability to work effectively with others or autonomously.
- Availability for rostered day shifts between 9:00am – 5:00pm.
