Details: Are you passionate about delivering great customer service and thrive on solving complex workforce challenges? Do you enjoy communicating with people through phone, SMS, and email, finding solutions to tricky HR and rostering issues, and making a real difference every day? The ACT Fire and Rescue team is looking for a skilled human resource and rostering specialist to support our operational Services manage and coordinate their workforces.

This role requires you to build strong relationships, providing direct support to a front-line operational workforce. If you're organised, customer-focused, and enjoy working in a quick-paced environment where no two days are the same, we'd love to hear from you.

The successful applicant will play a key role in coordinating and managing complex workforce rostering requirements and undertaking system actions related to remuneration and benefits. This role has direct interactions with the Operational Management team to ensure appropriate staffing of operational rosters management of leave applications or change the location of work (Station changes) to ensure we are able to meet community expectations. You will possess excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills and will be self-motivated, demonstrate professional resilience and be an effective team member.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

- There are no mandatory compliance or qualification requirements for this position, however, experience in rostering using computer-based programs such as UKG Pro will be highly regarded.
- To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid work visa.
- If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia, their employment with the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) will be terminated.
- This position requires a Class C unrestricted drivers’ licence.
- This position does not require a pre-employment medical.
- This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.

Notes:



This is a temporary position available immediately until 26 February 2027 with a possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. While the operational employees work 24/7, this role (P72223) is day work, office hours only (with flex time or overtime if/when appropriate). A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
