GENERAL CHEF JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition Purpose To prepare, cook and present high-quality food in accordance with The Pantry Manly’s recipes, standards and food safety requirements, while contributing to the efficient operation of the kitchen.

Key Duties

- Prepare and cook menu items to the required standard.
- Complete daily mise en place and preparation lists.
- Maintain consistent portion size, presentation and quality.
- Follow recipes, cooking procedures and plating specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organised and protected workstation.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, allergen and temperature-control procedures.
- Correctly label, date, store and rotate food using FIFO principles.
- Monitor stock levels and advise senior chefs of shortages.
- Minimise food waste and use ingredients responsibly.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and report faults or maintenance issues.
- Complete opening, closing and cleaning duties.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods.
- Communicate effectively with chefs,



kitchen hands and front-of-house staff.
- Assist other kitchen sections when required.
- Follow directions from senior chefs and management.
- Support and train junior team members where appropriate to the position.
- Maintain professional behaviour, punctuality and presentation at all times.
