Roy Powell Security is a locally owned and operated family business specialising in electronic security solutions across a range of industries. Our services include CCTV, access control systems, intruder alarm systems, and integrated security solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Security Apprentice to join our team.

This is a hands-on role where you will work alongside experienced technicians, gaining practical experience while developing your knowledge of the electronic security industry. You will be involved in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and related technologies.

This position offers a genuine career pathway within the electronic security industry, including the opportunity to obtain a Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology while gaining valuable hands-on experience in security and communications systems.

About the Role

As a Security Apprentice, you will:

- Assist with the installation and servicing of electronic security systems
- Learn to install and maintain CCTV, access control, and alarm systems
- Work with cabling, conduits, power tools, and electronic equipment
- Assist with fault finding and maintenance activities
- Work across residential, commercial, and industrial sites
- Develop technical skills through on-the-job training and industry experience

Requirements

- Manual Driver's Licence (essential)
- Construction White Card
- Ability to work in a variety of environments, including at heights, within ceiling spaces, and outdoors




- Experience using hand and power tools
- Strong interest in electronics, IT, networking, or technology
- Positive communication skills and a willingness to learn
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work as part of a team
- Willingness to travel to regional and remote locations throughout Queensland when required

Licensing Requirements

The successful applicant will be required to obtain a Queensland Class 2 Security Adviser / Equipment Installer Licence. Roy Powell Security will assist the successful candidate with obtaining this licence.
